Transformative Ecumenism
Transformative Ecumenism (TE) is a people-based, change-effecting, justice-driven, non-hierarchical and inclusive vision and movement from below.
The TE movement envisions and embodies future ecumenism by highlighting the prophetic vision, intellectual spirit, and moral leadership of future ecumenism in the challenges of the current global ecumenical movement.
The goal of TE is to re-juvencate, to re-define, and to re-shape the ecumenical movement together with the people's movement of the global South and all who are in ongoing struggles to affirm life.
The current ecumenical movement characterised by dearth of prophetic, intellectual, and moral substance...

How to re-shape the leadership out of moral bankruptcy of ecclesiastical leadership
How to re-define ecumenism itself outside of intellectual bankruptcy of ecumenical spirituality and vision
The specific objectives of TE
-
To plant seeds of a transformative ecumenical movement that will grow out of people, their lives, and their struggles;
-
To work for an ecumenical movement that has a clear vision as to how to heal a divided church and world;
-
To free the ecumenical movement from patriarchal, bureaucratic, and business oriented leadership devoid of calling, spirit, and respect for the whole creation

CES (former KIFE) has organised the international theological colloquium since July 2013 to seek to develop and propound a transformative ecumenical theology and present a projection of the future direction of the global ecumenical movement.
This theological colloquium has come up with themes to develop a transformative ecumenism. 'Towards Transformative Ecumenism' was the first theme of the colloquium in Pocheon, Korea, on July 2013. 'Living out TE' in Manila, the Philippines, on June 2014, 'Growing together in TE', Moshi, Tanzania, on Jan 2016, and 'Deepening TE' in Tokyo, Japan were dealt with.

CES held the global Christian leader's forum in 2015 in Jeju and in 2017 in Seoul. Christian leaders from around the world are invited to contribute to setting a global agenda for the Christian churches as communities of faith.
It is our conviction that the multiple crises we experience in the world today stem not only from the crises in our social, political and economic structures but reflect a deep spiritual crisis which requires a holistic approach in analysis, and an eschatological approach in presenting solutions and alternatives.
